Tips for Fall
Fall
is coming and that means a change in the weather won't
be far behind! It's never more important to care for
your skin than during the change of seasons, when varying
weather conditions and changing temperatures can damage
your skin before you've adjusted your skin care routine. |

| ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION |
| As
the temperatures begin to drop, that new chill can surprise and chap your
skin. Also, the heat in the house may begin to come on, drying you out
even more. Be sure that your skin is hydrated and your lips are covered. |
 |
Switch to a heavier moisturizer as fall approaches, or add
a nighttime oil if you don't use one in summer. Jojoba oil, olive oil,
and coconut oil all make wonderful natural moisturizers, especially at
night, when the body is at rest. Be sure to keep your lips covered with
balm or glosses that are infused with antioxidants. |
 |
Also, don't forget to drink your daily allotment of water and eat foods
containing essential fatty acids! Hydrating your skin from the inside helps
dry skin immensely. |
 |
Don't forget that the sun is still hanging around! Just because temperatures
are cooler doesn't mean that you can't get burned or aged by the sun. Your
skin still needs protection from UV rays, so don't forget sunscreen. And
remember, sunscreen in your foundation alone is not enough. |

| DEEP
CLEANING |
Most
of us think of seasonal cleaning as "spring
cleaning." But a deep cleansing of the skin
is a great idea in the fall, too. Because of the
change in weather your overall skin care regimen may
have to be adjusted just a bit. This is also the
perfect time to begin having deep cleansing facials.
Exfoliate! Fall is a great time to begin treatments
such as glycolic peels, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion.
These treatments are great ways to achieve deeper
means of exfoliation and leave the skin looking its
best. Incorporating a hydrating masque weekly will
help to retain moisture also.
